I would just like to add one more thing before closing. This picture, as you may recall, is the study for the famous painting of the same subject which hangs in the Louvre. Should you buy it, as I hope you will, you will be acquiring an outstanding work at a price which is extremely reasonable in comparison with other French 19th century items on the market today.

I know you will understand the spirit of this letter, and look forward very much to speaking to you next week over the phone about all this.

In the meantime, my very best wishes to you both, and we also hope for an early reunion either here or in Chicago.
