Dear Mary,

Just a line to tell you how happy I was about your liking our Matisse drawing. As a matter of fact, it is one of the best by the artist and dating from one of his most developed periods. I do not need to add that it is a composition in which he achieved the greatest success.

We are shipping the drawing to you personally without delay by Railway Express rather than by plane taking the snowy weather into consideration.

I hear that you were terribly rushed while in New York this time. Edna and I hope that next time you will have a few moments for us.

With thanks,
Very sincerely yours,
(Georges E. Seligmann)
