Dear Mr. Seligmann,

I was so sorry not to be present the other day when you looked at the Terborch, but I was ill in bed, where I am still. As Madge explained to you, Dr.Borenius came here yesterday to look at the picture for someone else, a client in London, and I assure you he was quite astounded to find such a picture, which he says, have become extremely rare. He valued it between 3.000 £ and 5.000 £, which agrees with Dr. Valentiner's estimate, when he bid me for it some 8 or 10 years ago, 3.000 £ (gold) for his Detroit Museum, but in any case, I will stick to my promise to let you have the picture at 1,700 £ even in consignment, as I am certain you will sell it, as soon as I have an answer from Dr. Borenius's friend. This will be within a few days. This man has seen the picture already here in my house, but he was doubtful about it being the correct size for his room.

Meanwhile, will you kindly let me know when and where to deliver the picture.

With kind regards, and hoping you have a good season in N.Y.
Yours sincerely,

-(s) Eugene Bolton.
