Hotel Richmond,
Genève. 21st Oct.1936

Monsieur Georges Seligmann
9, rue de la Paix,
Paris.

My dear M. Seligmann,

Thanks for your letter, which has been following me about. I am here to see my brother Paul, who is since 7 weeks in a Clinique in Zurich, but he is much better now.

We were greatly shocked to hear the sad news about your dear sister in law; whilst I had not the pleasure of knowing her personally, I have heard so much of her charm; it must have been a terrible blow for René. Not knowing his New York address, please convey to him, also in the name of Madge, our heartfelt sympathy.

I have spoken to Maus. They are a bit unsettled on account of the financial and political outlook and not very much inclined to bother about works of art; at the same time I am going there again to-morrow and if anything occurs I will let you know.

Yours affectionately,
(s) Eugène Bolton.
