Dear Mr. Bonnier:

In my absence from New York my firm duly acknowledged receipt of the check you sent in payment of the Picasso drawing purchased by your son.

However, upon my return, reading your very kind lines of March 30, I do want to say how much I appreciate the thought that prompted you to write as you did, and let me say in turn how much I enjoyed meeting your son and his wife.

I am always particularly interested in young collectors and especially when they respond so very spontaneously to aesthetic beauty as these young people do.

I promised Mr. Gerard Bonnier that I would post him as soon as I would have a decision on the Seurat drawing of "The Leg", and that should the other young collector who is so keenly interested in it not purchase it, I would post you at once, and put it aside for a couple of weeks to allow your son to reach a conclusion in this connection.

Very sincerely yours,

(Germain Seligman)
