Dear Mr. Bonnier:
You will I think remember that when you son was in New York and interested in the SEURAT drawing "The Leg" I told him that I had promised to hold it for a certain length of time for another collector.
However, not having had an answer from that party, I no longer feel under an obligation, and according to my arrangement with Mr. Gerard Bonnier, I am writing you to say that the drawing is now available to him should he wish to purchase it.
I believe he will remember that the price is Two Thousand Dollars (2,000) and that I agreed I would hold it for him for two weeks after I would write you. Thus I shall reserve it for Mr. Gerard Bonnier until the first week in July, and trust that meanwhile you will have an opportunity to communicate with him and receive his decision.
Unfortunately I shall be away, but Mrs. Parker at my gallery is completely posted.
Yours very sincerely,
Mr. Aake Bonnier
