Dear Mr. Séligmann

The gin arrived yesterday and we have already sampled it very effectually and find it excellent. Thank you for sending ^[[insertion]] it [[/insertion]] not only as a present but as an introduction of a new hope — we [[underlined]] do [[/underlined]] like our cocktail and gin [[underlined]] is [[/underlined]] is [[/underlined]] so hard to get. I hope we can track down the Mexican variety here in Chicago.

If and when I ever come to New York again I'll let you know — travelling is almost as hard as gin.
