October 15, 1949 Dear Mr. Brewster: When it is my privilege of writing you a few months ago, you answered me that you were still undecided as to the paintings you would keep, as several had been bequeathed by your dear wife. Having heard of late that these gifts had been made, may I inquire whether you would be willing to part with some of the other paintings which remain today in your collection? If so, any information you would be willing to give me in this respect would be greatly appreciated. Looking forward to hearing from you, Yours very sincerely, (Germain Seligman) Walter S. Brewster, Esq. 2704 Lakeview Avenue Chicago, Illinois ^[[GS]]
