Dear Madam, Thank you for your letter of the 24th November. I quite realise the difficulty regarding the drawing by Seurat "Study of Legs" but am wondering whether it would be possible for you to give me the address of the present owner so that I may apply to them for permission. Another alternative often preferred by our book publishers,I believe, would be to ask if you would kindly forward the enclosed letter on our behalf and invoice any cost to us. Should either of these alternative be possible and should we be able to obtain the permission required is there any chance that you still have a photograph of the drawing which you would be willing to lend? I should be most grateful for any further help you can give. Yours faithfully, [[signature]] Theodora M.
