^[[CT]] [[preprinted]] ARTHUR EDWIN BYE PAINTINGS — WORKS OF ART 1828 RITTENHOUSE SQUARE, PHILADELPHIA EXPERTIZATION RESTORATION [[/preprinted]] ^[[checkmark]] May 9th,1932. Dear Mr.Trevor, I am so sorry to have kept you waiting for a reply in regard to Mr.White. I am unable to do anything just now for both Mrs.White and Mr.White are not willing to make any statements in regard to new purchases or exchanges. I tried also a friend of mine, employed by the Pennsylvania Museum,to bring the painting by Degas to his attention but it also failed. However, I will try later on as I am in permanent touch with good friends of White's and if the general depressed mood has changed into "The Fall optimism" I may be of more help to you. Very sincerely Yours, Clyfford Trevor,Esq., East 52nd Street, New York City . ^[[Copy to CT 5/11/32]]
