December 12th, 1952.

Dear Sir,

I was very much interested in the description of the Netherland manuscripts of the Aremberg collection you did send me with your letter of December 6th.

I missed among them a description of the "Heures de Catherine de Cleves" (A.W. Byvanck, [[underlined]] La miniature dans les Pays-Bas septentrionaux [[/underlined]], pp.117-118, pls.XLV-XLVI), the most valuable of this group of manuscripts in the Aremberg-Collection known in literature.

Most of the manuscripts belong to the art of Belgium and have only a secondary interest for this country.

I am especially interested, as you will understand, in nr.79. But the nrs.30 and 80 seem to belong to hte art of North-Netherland and the master of nr.68 is connection with this country. I will be obliged to you, if you will send me a few photographs to illustrate the art of these manuscripts.

I am looking forward to the catalogue you promised to send me.

It might be important for you to send copies of the catalogue to the Royal Library in the Hague and to the University Library in Leiden. I will communicate with these [[strikethrough]] i [[/strikethrough]] institutions, as soon as I have received the photographs, and I will ask the directors to communicate directly with you about the manuscripts they are interested in.

Yours very sincerely,
