Paris, June 4, 1919.

My dear Sir:-
Lieutenant Commander Read has asked me to acknowledge receipt of your letter of June 2nd, 1919, inviting him to be present at a meeting of the Committe on Wednesday afternoon at 5 o'clock. He regrets exceedingly that important engagements in London make it necessary for him to return to London on the noon train today, and, therefore, he will be unable to meet your wishes.

Lieutenant Commander Read expects to be in Paris again about June 10th and will probably be accompanied by Commander Towers, Lieutenant Commander Bellinger and the entire crews of the seaplanes N.C.1, N.C.3, and N.C.4.

Very respectfully,
Commander, U.S. Navy,
Aid to Chief of Naval Operations.

Mr. Sidney B. Veit,
Hon. Secretary,
Foreign Service Committee Aero Club of America, 42, Faubourg Poissonniere,
Paris.
