Written in Dejection near Boston.

I.

One can't be very bad,
And one can't be very sad,
For all of us are mad
In Boston.
But if one has a fad,
Life can be pretty glad
(If one lives with Maynard Ladd)
In Boston!

II.
There's a spirit of Content that reigns
O'er Boston's long brick streets and brimming Fen,
Which fills with envy restless, shallow men,
And only middle-age, not age, attains.
