The Abbé, a man of fine appearance, beautiful diction and exquisite manners could not have been more cordial than he was.  Juilly had already been requisitioned by the government as a hospital & a few [[strikethrough]] slight [[/strikethrough]] preparations made for [[strikethrough]] the ^[[its]] [[/strikethrough]] installation In fact over 500 wounded had remained there for a few nights at the time of the fighting around Meaux.  A battle took place just outside the walls of the college and the wounded were brought in and given first aid before passing on to permanent hospitals.

We decided before learning to [[strikethrough]] set [[/strikethrough]] establish Hospital B at Juilly.

Now I can picture the hospital & plan the use of the rooms.

Monday night I dined at the Tucks, a dinner for the Herricks who leave Saturday.
