85 Third week of war 3 army corps and a cavalry division landed in France. 1st Army Corp - 1st & 2nd divisions under Sir Douglas Haig 2d Army Corp - 3d & 5th divisions under Gen. Sir Horace Smith-Dorrien 3d Army Corp - 4th + 6th divisions under Major-General W. P. Pultney Cavalry Division Major-General Edmund Allenby. It was expected that after the first battle with the German army in Belgium, near the border, the enemy would be driven back. Hands joined with the Belgians, Brussels abandoned and the siege of Namur raised Message issued by King and Kitchener. Three French armies working as follows -
