CRISPUS ATTUCKS,
brave, half American Indian and Negro leader, was killed on March 5, 1770. He was the first man to die in the cause of American Independence, defending his country against the British. The uprising in which he was slain, known as the Boston Massacre, was in protest against the housing of British soldiers in that city.

Hold your hat in March winds, ma'am
In like a lion, out like a lamb.
Then comes Spring, so sentimental,
And - like Schenley...mild and gentle.
