[[wavy underlined]] Barro Colorado Island Panama Canal Zone [[/wavy underlined]]

13 December
I am still exhausted from the events of the past few days so I just went out for a short walk in the forest today. The most striking difference in the forest is that in the 8 months I [[strikethrough]] have ge [[/strikethrough]] was gone all of the light gaps have matured. Some of them are almost unrecognizable with the growth [[strikethrough]] of [[/strikethrough]] covering over. This really makes me wonder what the antwrens do as the forest matures. Vine tangles that are formed by the Free falls must be more stable through time than the gaps created by falls.

Big Red [[underlined]] M. fulviventris [[/underlined]] was out to greet me (Bienvenidos a BCI) with the whole entourage. The [[underlined]] X. lachrymosus [[/underlined]] was playing tuba while [[underlined]] T. erythrurus [[/underlined]] played piccolo in the band. Almost all of the [[underlined]] T. punctatus [[/underlined]] on the plateaus (that I saw) were marked but that was about it. The unmarked flocks present were in [[underlined]] exactly [[/underlined]] the same areas frequented by Red, Green, and Corner flocks last year.

The weather was sunny when I left the clearing ^[[(~9:15)]] and then clouded over at 11:00.

14 December [[wavy underlined]] BCI [[/underlined]]
Today I went up to the plateau to psyche out locations for more nets and look for the marked birds. It was very hot, dry and there was very little bird activity.
