I have the honor in reply to your letter dated September 18th 1867, to report that both the father and mother of [[underlined]] Silvy [[/underlined]] are dead. [[underlined]] Mrs. Dinah Holmes [[/underlined]] is her step-mother and lives in Muddy St. New Berne N.C. The Grandfather of Silvy is alive and a hardy old man, his name is [[underlined]] Peter Stevenson, [[/underlined]] a cooper and lives in South Front St. New Berne N.C. he is both able and willing to support Silvy and her child
