Hints on Drawing
G.M.J.

This is the weather in which you can draw in the open air. If you know of a herd of cows or horses, or anything that interests you, take your sketch-book, pencil, rubber and pe ^[[n]] knife and find a shady seat on the sunny side of your objects. If they are animals you will find that they are not much inclined to pose for ^[[you,]] and you will probably be obliged to gather up your work and walk about the field in order to obtain the same view of a grazing animal twice.

Besides you will often be annoy ^[[e]]d by bovine curiosity which [[strikethrough]] will [[/strikethrough]] ^[[is]] apt to lead a heifer to [[strikethrough]] your [[/strikethrough]] ^[[snuff her]] portrait with a dewy muzzel.
