homes for the aged, T.B. sanitariums and leprosariums. At Christmas time visits were made to sixteen institutions and 883 children were presented with gifts.

Dues and fund raising projects such as the Fall Charity Dance, Children's Carnival, bake sales, etc., defray expenses for social service projects and Club activities. Our attractive Club Appointment Calendar proved to be a financial success this year.

In addition to its welfare contributions, the Club is proud of the real service it has rendered in promoting mutual understanding between the Chinese, Americans and foreign nationalities. The first joint meeting with another Chinese Women's group was held in November with the members of the Women's Anti-Aggression League, and proved to be most interesting and informative. In April our especial guests were members of the Women's Committee of the United Nations Association. Our programs, designed to promote international friendship and culture, mainly comprised the study of some aspect of culture of China or another foreign country. In addition to the General monthly meeting, group meetings are held for those interested in bridge, square dancing, toy making, stamp collecting, etc.

By the joy and enthusiasm displayed in accepting and carrying out responsibilities, by the flexibility shown in cooperating with others, plus the faithful and generous support of club projects and activities, you, the members of the Taipei International Women's Club, have made this club year a most remarkable success. I congratulate you and commend you for your outstanding contributions to the Community.
