and skylights will be complete by December 1992. The building is scheduled to open to the public in May, 1993, to coincide with the 70th anniversary of the Gallery's original opening. 

The Institution expects to award a construction contract in September 1991 for replacement of the Hirshhorn Museum plaza. The project involves replacement of the concrete aggregate paving material with slabs of granite, installation of granite-faced retaining walls within the plaza area, waterproofing of the structure below, and installation of building lighting, sprinkler and drainage systems. The work is scheduled to be complete in the fall of 1992.

At the National Zoological Park, construction of the base building for the Amazonia Exhibit is now 60% complete. Construction of the gallery portion is 10% complete. The project is on schedule for an early 1992 completion.
