Mayors and the two postmasters involved and obtain signed affidavits attesting their participation in this event? If the original letter could be located, that would indeed be worthy of preservation here. I would also appreciate having an attested affidavit from you stating the facts of this event over your signature.

In addition to my very helpful and friendly visit with you, I made a number of other valuable contacts in California. I am particularly happy that I was able to obtain the existing relics of Montgomery's gliders, although they were pitifully few and in a deplorable condition when I found them.

I recall your saying that you had an old propeller stored away somewhere and that when you had an opportunity to locate it you would inform me. If at that time, you are still minded to place it in this Museum, I will send you a Bill of Lading to cover its shipment.

Under separate cover, I am sending you a copy of a handbook which describes some of the outstanding items exhibited here. Again, thank you for your kindnesses.

Very truly yours,
