The following day more excitement developed. 

The Delaware Division of the Erie, over which Cal was now flying, follows the Susquehanna River as it winds around the foot hills of southern New York. 

Cal had been doing very nicely, [[strikethrough]]in[[/strikethrough]] keeping to the Erie tracks, but on this day he had the bright idea that he could fly over and across the hills, picking up the Erie tracks occasionally and save himself some mileage. This he proceeded to do, but in coming cross country near Starrucca, Pa., he mistook the Delaware Hudson R.R. tracks for the Erie and followed them south about fifty miles to Scranton, Pa. I had described no such town as Scranton to him so he sensed that something was wrong and landed.
