I give this little negro girl, Sarah, and her issue to the small boy, John N. Turner, Jr., firstly, for the goodwill and affection I have for the child and secondly, for the friendly and medical attention I have secured from the father.

In the fourth place, as soon after my decease as it may be thought prudent by my Executor, I desire the remaining portion of my negroes and their increase should be sold; viz.: Susan, Diriah, Jinny, Milly, Edy, Julia, Matilda, Ellen;on a credit of one and two years, with approved security and mortgage of the same to secure the payment of the debts, and the money arising therefrom to be disposed of in the following manner:
Firstly, from it I desire all of my just debts be paid.

Secondly, I desire that $200.00 be given to Charity Roberts, wife of Erwin Roberts, now living in Stewart County, Georgia, and in case that said Charity Roberts should not be living I wish it ($200.00) to go to her grandson, John C. Roberts.

Thirdly, I desire that the balance of the money arising from the sale of said negroes above specified be equally divided between my brother, Joel Cherry, of Tennessee, and James Cherry of Alabama, and my sister Penelope Butler of Alabama; or should either of the above named brothers be dead, or sister, I wish their children to be their representatives and have their portion that would naturally in the division fall to him or her.

In the fifth place, I give and bequeath to my wife, Elizabeth Cherry, all the rest of my property (not above specified) consisting of horses, cattle, hogs, provender, plantation accessories, household and kitchen furniture, monies and promissory notes, etc., etc., for her use and benefit and disposal.

Lastly, I do constitute and appoint my wife, Elizabeth Cherry, Executrice and my friend, Dr. John N. Turner, as Executor to this my last will and testament, hereby revoking and making null and void all other wills by me heretofore made. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this the 13th. day of March in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight Hundred and Forty-three.
