Dear General Milling:

Herewith, by messenger to insure safe delivery, we are returning the thirty-one old photographs from your personal collection which you brought in for our edification on certain points. We regret that space limitations would not allow us to include at least two of your pictures. I imagine you would like to keep all of these photographs, but we would like to purchase reproduction rights and make good copies for our files of two. They will be valuable in the future, and we will be glad to pay you twenty-five dollars each.

I refer to the picture of you and Lt. Sherman after landing the early "tractor" which, I believe, is the plane you were flying at the time of the crash landing on water, the incident you so vividly described at lundh [[lunch]]. The other is a photograph of Billy Mitchell and other officers in front of an MB-2 bomber. Was this taken during the 1921 "trials?" We will appreciate any pertinent information you can supply.

Sincerely,
