Lieut. Milling, Due at College Park Sunday, Studying Gnome Motor

^[[Sept 7 11]]

Capt. Paul W. Beck talked with Lieut. T. DeWitt Milling over a long distance telephone last evening at Marblehead, Mass., where the young flyer is studying the Gnome motor. Lieutenant Milling will return to the city Sunday afternoon and will resume his flights in the Burgess-Wright machine at College Park Monday afternoon.

The Government is contemplating equipping its machines with the Gnome motor, and Lieutenant Milling went to Marblehead to study it.

Monday he went to Boston, where he won the $7,500 purse offered to an aviator in a biplane, making a tri-state journey of 160 miles. He then went back to the Burgess-Wright factory, and will remain there until Saturday night.
