A calculation, of which a summary is appended, fully proves the possibility of its application & shows that such a balloon locomotive, can be moved in every direction & in a calm at a speed of a fast steamer.

Although it is to be admitted that such a balloon locomotive would not be quiet [[quite]] a perfect machine, that a brisk contrary wind would bring it to a standstill, but it is be to [[to be]] allowed, that this balloon locomotive in comparison to the common balloon (which without rudder & without locomotive powers, is at the mercy of the slightest wind perceptible) would be a decided step forward in aerial Navigation & in the first instance of enormous importance for military purposes.
