GILROYE A. GRIFFIN, JR. IS VICE PRESIDENT, MANAGEMENT PLANNING
The appointment of Gilroye A. Griffin, Jr., to the new post of Vice President, Management Planning, was recently announced by Drew Q. Brinckerhoff, CBS Vice President, Personnel.
  
Mr. Griffin, who joins CBS on April 22, will have responsibility for Resource Planning, Management and Organizational Development, Recruitment and Placement, and Education and Training ctivities. Mr. Griffin's responsibilities will relate to all CBS division, subsidiary and corporate personnel

Born in August 1938 in Columbia, South Carolina, where he attended local secondary schools, he earned his B.A. at Dartmouth College in 1959 and his Juris Doctor at Columbia University Law School in 1962. He comes to CBS from Kenyon & Eckhardt, Inc., where he has served as Vice President, Corporate Administration and Associate General Counsel. Previously, he held positions in the personnel, legal and labor relations areas with Mobil Oil and Bristol-Myers.
  
Mr. Griffin is a member of the Board of Directors of Freedom National Bank, the International Radio and Television Society, the Council for Concerned Black Executives, the American Society for Personnel Administration and the Interracial Council for Business Opportunity. He is also a member of the American and New York State Bar Associations and a trustee of the Studio Museum of Harlem and Streetworkers Inc. In addition, Mr. Griffin serves on the Advisory Board for the Black Executive Exchange Program of the National Urban League and in a member of One Hundred Black Men.

GENE LOTHERY IS DIRECTOR OF SALES, WCBS-TV
Gene Lothery as Director of Sales, WCBS-TV. He succeeds Gene Jankowski, who recently became Vice President, Sales, CBS Television Stations Division.
  
Mr. Lothery will be responsible for Channel 2 sales, sales promotion and sales research. He has been Director of Eastern Sales, CBS Television Stations National Sales since July 1973, and was formerly Eastern Sales Manager, in New York, for KMOX-TV, the CBS Owned television station in St. Louis, for two years.
  
Mr. Lothery joined CBS in 1968 as an account executive with KNXT, the CBS Owned television station in Los Angeles. During the next three years he held various account executive positions with CBS Television Stations National Sales in Chicago and New York. 
  
Born in Rochester, Michigan, he earned his bachelor of arts degree in English and history in 1962 from Central Michigan University. He and his wife, the former Joan E. Tademy, reside with their two children in Teaneck, N.J. Mr. Lothery is a recipient of the Junior Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Young Men Award for 1972.

LeBARON TAYLOR IS VICE PRESIDENT OF SPECIAL MARKETS FOR CBS RECORDS
In his new capacity, Mr. Taylor will be responsible for all marketing of R&B product for Columbia, Epic and the Columbia Custom Labels. His functions will include the direct supervision of the R&B Promotion Department and field force as well as the supervision of all advertising, point-of-sale, publicity, and artist relations activities in regard to Black product. Mr. Taylor also will be involved in sales activities regarding the R&B market. He will report directly to Bruce Lundvall, Vice President of Marketing for CBS Records.

ELEANOR S. APPLEWHAITE IS GENERAL ATTORNEY OF BROADCAST SECTION OF CBS LAW DEPARTMENT
Eleanor S. Applewhaite is General Attorney of the Broadcast Section of the CBS Law Department. Miss Applewhaite, a native of New York and a graduate of Cornell University and Columbia Law School, joined the CBS Law Department in 1964 and for the past four years has been Assistant General Attorney, Government Affairs. She had previously been a member of the Radio Section and the Broadcast Section, and had served as law clerk to U.S. District Judge Frederick vanPelt Bryan before becoming a member of the CBS legal staff.
  
Miss Applewhaite is a member of the Association of the Bar of the City of New York and the Federal Communications Bar Association. She serves on the Boards of the International Radio and Television Society and the Columbia Law School Alumni Association, and is Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Alvin Ailey City Center Dance Theater.
