"Day care means a lot more than just babysitting".

Wilmington, Delaware

There's nobody else exactly like a kid who knows there's always someone who cares.

What happens to children when the mother has to work all day long?

Thanks in large part to Lucye Stockton, in Wilmington, the lucky ones spend every day at West Center City Day Care Nursery. And that means mothers are free to hold down jobs that help hold together their families.

But, in addition, the children get a lot of things they couldn't get at home. They learn how to get along with other kids their age. How to play and share. They get the best professional guidance. They get good hot food and plenty of it. And, most important, they get loving individual attention.

Lucye Stockton is the immediate past president of the nursery's board of trustees and currently serves as a member. She devotes a good part of her spare time and energy to making the nursery work. And grow. Right now, she's active in a group that's planning a new building to take care of twice as many kids. And to help hold together twice as many families.

And on her job, as a district manager for Equitable, Lucye puts the same concerns for people to work. Developing life insurance programs that bring independence and security to entire families.

We're glad that she works for us. We care that she cares about people's lives.
