The fourth and perhaps most spectacular salute given an athlete was the day for Mohammed Ali on regaining his heavyweight championship crown.

Mohammed Ali toured 5 boroughs of the City, was received by the Mayor at City Hall and given a medal of honor. Minister Ali preached to inmates at Rikers Island, toured various schools in Brooklyn, and was feted with a luncheon and speaking engagement at the Mosque at 116 Street and Lenox Avenue. A reception later was held at 369th Regiment Armory in Harlem where citizens of that community recognized his greatness. The day closed with a boxing exhibition at a community center located in the South Bronx.
