Black Gold

Oil is often referred to as black gold. AtlanticRichfieldCompany believes there's another national resource worth its weight in gold, too--the young people of our country.

As one way to help these kids, kids of all colors, realize their full potentials, AtlanticRichfieldCompany sponsors and supports a variety of sports activities. And contributes to a host of other youth-oriented community programs.

The largest is the annual Jesse Owens Junior Track Classic.* In 12 years, more than 500,000 novice boys and girls between 10 and 15 years old have participated in cities across the country.

Sports. A great way for our youth to get involved. To increase their own positive self-image. And to help channel their energies towards developing their own worthwhile lifestyles.

We believe our participation is a wise investment. For them. For us. For America.
