Cutty Sark Awards were given for excellences and achievement in the Black Community to the following:

1. CUTTY SARK AWARD PRESENTED TO JOE LOUIS

Joe Louis, the Brown Bomber, was recently presented with the Cutty Sark Achievement Award. The Cutty Award cited Joe's outstanding accomplishments as a great prize fighter as well as for his inspiration to American youth. He was the first Black sports superstar of international stature. Joe held the Heavyweight Championship of the World longer than any other man. He retired with 68 victories in 71 fights with 54 knockouts. Jos Louis is currently associated with Caesar's Palace, Las Vegas and Louis-Rowe Enterprise, New York. Pictured holding the Cutty Award with Joe is his wife, Mrs. Martha Louis.

2. CUTTY SARK AWARD GOES TO MARSHALL S. JOHNSON, II

Marshall S. Johnson, II, the Imperial Potentate of the Shriners is presented with the Cutty Sark Achievement Award for his and the Shriners' contributions in community health and minority education. Congratulating Mr. Johnson are Edward A. Horrigan, Jr., President of Cutty Sark and Cheryl Mills, Cutty Sark promotional representative. 

3. CUTTY SARK AWARD GOES TO ISAAC HAYES and HAL JACKSON

Isaac Hayes and Hal Jackson are presented with the "Cutty Sark" achievement award for their outstanding contribution to the Black community and its youth. Congratulating Isaac and Hal is George C. Utendahl, who is Cutty Sark's promotional sales representative. Also admiring the Clipper is Eddie O Jay.
