[[caption]] CHRIS CHAMBLISS ACCEPTS AMERICAN LEAGUE'S SECOND JOHNNIE WALKER CUP - New York Yankee All-Star first baseman Chris Chambliss accepts a victory cup on behalf of the American League's 10-9 victory over a team of National League All-Stars in the recent 2nd Annual Johnnie Walker Cup Charity Softball Game in Innisbrook, Florida. Chambliss successfully captained the American League team to their second consecutive Johnnie Walker Cup title, as the American League overcame an early five run deficit and rallied dramatically to win on a home run by the Boston Red Sox's Jim Rice in the game's final inning. The program, sponsored by Somerset Importers, Ltd., exclusive U.S. importer of the Johnnie Walker Scotch whiskies, has raised over $17,500 for charity from the game’s first two years, with all event proceeds supporting Sickle Cell anemia genetic counseling, Sickle Cell disease education, and mental retardation prevention programs. Participating in the Johnnie Walker Cup presentations are, from the left, Bob Saunders, general manager, special markets, Somerset; Chris Chambliss; Herb Jacobs, vice president, group marketing director, Somerset; Dick Campbell, executive director, Sickle Cell Disease Foundation of Greater New York; Martin Rainey, executive director, Sickle Cell Disease Foundation of Pinellas County; and Brian Connelly, Trustee, Civitan International Foundation. Also observing the presentation are the N.Y. Yankees’ Thurman Munson (No. 1), and the Cleveland Indians’ Buddy Bell (No. 21). Among the star players participating in this year’s game were Mark Fidrych, Johnny Bench, Willie Stargell, Tom Seaver, and Lou Brock.
