Turbee, director of special markets of Somerset Importers, both members of the Committee. Presentation was made at a recent ceremony held at the New York State Harlem Office Building, N.Y.C. The Afro-American series of books was donated by Somerset to the Jackman Memorial Committee for inclusion in the Countee Cullen Collection of the Trevor Arnett Library at Atlanta University. This collection was initiated a number of years ago by Harold Jackman, who was a great admirer of the contributions to history of Black writers. The Countee Cullen Collection, comprising materials by and about Black Americans, contains original manuscripts, autographed copies of printed materials, theater and concert programs, plus other memorabilia that reflects Black participation in and contributions to life today. The Committee, headed by Ivie Jackman, is continuing this valuable work and hopes to provide scholarship funds to make the Collection accesible to many others.
