CARATS, Inc.
Macon, Georgia—July 10-12,1981

The host city of the 1981 Carats, Inc., conclave on July 10, 11 and 12, 1981, will be Macon, Georgia. Macon has the distinction of being one of the first sites of an institution of higher education for woman.

The 1980 conclave was held in Columbus, Ohio. The Youth Service Guild was selected by the Columbus Chapter as the recipient of the Annual Carat Community Fund Award, therefore joining previous recipients, Arena Players of Baltimore, Muscular Dystrophy Fund in Atlanta, students of Detroit attending Wilberforce University, and the Dance Theater of Harlem. The Columbus Carats also provided a surprise for Carat, Delores Shelton of Atlanta, when she was presented a mink hat as winner of the door prize at the annual luncheon.

Carats, Inc., a national organization of women, now consists of nine chapters located in Atlanta, Ga., Baltimore, Md., Chattanooga, Tenn., Cleveland, O., Columbus, O., Detroit, Mich., and Macon, Ga., New York, N.Y., and Philadelphia, Pa. Each of these chapters pursues a wide variety of educational, cultural, social, and civic activities.
