A reputation is a very fragile thing.

Back in 1906, Mr. W. K. Kellogg started manufacturing his original corn flakes with a very simple idea in mind: to provide a nutritious, high-quality, good-tasting product.

He did just that.

Over the years that initial success was followed by more and more successes. And the Kellogg Company grew to become the largest cereal manufacturer in the United States. But we never lost sight of Mr. Kellogg's original idea along the way. We just sophisticated it.

Today, before we add nutrients to our products, we consider factors like the nutrient intake of the population, the way the public uses our products, the nutrient value of supplemental foods, and the recommendation of independent nutritionists and professional groups.

To maintain the high quality of our products, our quality control department continuously inspects raw materials, processing and packaging operations. That way we can be assured that our cereals meet the standards we set for consistency, flavor, texture and nutrient content; and our standards for ingredient purity are more stringent than the ones required by the U.S Food and Drug Administration.

We also offer more kinds of cereals than any other manufacturer.

They're all very important reasons why we're thought of as a leader in our industry. We're proud to be thought of in that way, too. That's why we'll never lose sight of Mr. Kellogg's original, simple idea.

And we'll stake our reputation on that.
