Michelangelo's Long-Lost Statue OF SAINT JOHN
The 40" high marble statue of the boy with a lamb, symbol of Saint John, is on display at the main entrance area of the pavilion, was brought here from Italy at the turn of the century. In 1942 it was purchased by Mr. and Mrs. Pierro Tozzi, its present owners. On loan to the Vatican Pavilion from the Tozzi collection, the work of art is insured for $2,500,000.

Michelangelo's "Pieta" - This is the famed Michelangelo sculpture "Pieta", shown in the Pieta Chapel of the Basilica of St. Peter at the Vatican.
At the request of His Eminence Francis Cardinal Spellman, New York's Roman Catholic Archbishop, Pope John XXIII consented to send the sculpture to New York for exhibit at the New York 1964-1965 World's Fair. The sculpture shows the Madonna and the Dead Christ.
