Washington, D.C. 20007 Telephone (202) 333-3855 SPECIAL INVITATION TENTH NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON BLACKS IN HIGHER EDUCATION "Coalitions" March 31 - April 3, 1985 Washington Hilton Hotel, Washington, DC Dear Friend: The Board of Directors, Membership and Conference Committee of the National Association for Equal Opportunity in Higher Education (NAFEO) are happy to announce the Tenth National Conference on Blacks in Higher Education, March 31-April 3, 1985. We cordially invite you to experience what promises to be NAFEO's best Conference ever, our Ten-Year Conference Anniversary. The theme of the Conference will be "Coalitions." We shall seek to coalesce those attendees, participants and friends who have participated in previous NAFEO Conferences with those who have not had the unique opportunity of participating in a NAFEO Conference--the most important annual meeting for the discussion of issues concerning Blacks in Higher Education in America. Described herein are four days of activities beginning with the Tenth Annual Leadership Awards Banquet and ending with our Tenth Anniversary Celebration. Scholars, researchers and leaders will engage in dialogue and present views which will not only assess progress that has been made in Black higher education, but will focus on issues that determine continued progress. The focus will be "Coalitions," specifically, cooperation among divergent interest groups and implications for strategies to promote improved access to Black higher education. This Conference will provide a unique opportunity for individuals and/or groups who are interested in current Black higher education issues, have a message to deliver or who just want to learn more about Black higher education. The registration fees and information explain the options for involvement. Join us March 31 - April 3, 1985. Your support enables us to continue to serve our membership, 114 historically and predominantly black colleges/universities. Cordially, [[Signature - Samuel L. Myers]] Samuel L.
