KOBRAND CORPORATION RECEIVES COMMUNITY SERVICE AWARD

The Epsilon Sigma Chapter of the Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity presented the Alain a. Locke Education Foundation Award at the 70th Annual Blue and White Reception to Robert A. Aldridge, President, Kobrand Corporation; sole importers of Beefeater Gin and Burrough's English Vodka. The award was presented by Mr. Mel Patrick, National Director of Publicity for the Fraternity. 

The Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity is the second oldest black fraternity in the United States and participates in fund raising activities to educate Black College Students. Alain A. Locke, a Rhodes Scholar and member of the fraternity, initiated a scholarship program as one of its special efforts. Kobrand received the award for it's support of this program designed to aid Black youths in their educational and cultural pursuits.

TAITTINGER VASERELY AT THE ANNUAL ASTAIRE AWARDS

To benefit the Anglo American Contemporory Dance Foundation, Kobrand Corporation provided Taittinger Champagne for the Third Annual Astair Awards Presentation and Dinner Dance. A special presentation of the Taittinger Collection Vasarely Bottle was made to each award winner by Joan Fontaine. Burrough's English Vodka and Beefeater Gin were the exclusive Gin and Vodka for this even. The foundation works to strengthen the exchange between the U.S.A. and Britain's dance and Theatre students, personalities and companies.

On November 19th, 1984 Kobrand Corporation participated in the 12th Annual Audelco Recognition Awards by providing Taittinger Champagne at the pre and post performance festivities. Recipients of these awards are members of the Black Theatre Community whose work in professional, non-profit, theatre production demands acknowledgement. 

The event was attended by many prominent members of the entertainment and press communities.  This year, the awards were held at Aaron Davis Hall of City College. Next year, the awards presentation will be held at the newly rennovated Apollo Theatre.
