Students Participating in Drug and Substance Abuse Workshop... 

The Southern California Cluster of Links, Inc., has undertaken through its Service To Youth Component the task of enriching and exposing students in a workshop setting to the following: Teen Stress, Teen Sexuality, Drug and Substance Abuse "Just Say No to Drugs", Male/Female Relationships, Preparation for Employment and Career Choices, Effective Communication and Self Esteem. 
The Assembly is under the leadership of the Western Area Director, Link Dorris McCarroll, Vice Area Director Juanita Shell, National Service To Youth Director Flavia Walton, Western Area Director M. Corrine Hardy, Assembly Chairperson Vera L. Ricketts, Co-Chair Lillie Wilson. The Service To Youth Chairperson of their respective chapters are; Link Signora Johnson/Gertrude Paxton, Angel City, Shirlee Amos Beverly Hills-West Chapter, Irma Jones of Channel Island chapter, Jessie Henry of Claremont. Martha Dauway of Harbor chapter, Villa Frierson of Inglewood Pacific, Harriet Bailey of Los Angeles Mercedes A. Hervey/Dorothy Grand of Pasadena /Altadena, Mary Jane McCoy of San Bernardino, Denia Hightower/Pauline Barclay of San Fernando Valley, Alma Nealy of Bakerfield, Saron Willis of Las Vegas, Carolyn Shade of San Diego.

presented a check to the Southern California Cluster of Links, Inc., (15 chapters) for the youth Enrichment Assembly lunches for one thousand students. Supporting the United Negro College Fund Telethon [[photograph below]] 
The Southern California Cluster of Links, Inc. networked with the Southern California chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha, and Delta Sigma Theta sororities to raise monies for the United Negro College Find in support of the black colleges and universities. The telethon was held and the Los Angeles Hilkton [[Hilton]] Hotel. 
Each organization had a coordinator, and the Links coordinator was Link Ruth Hayes of the Harbor Chapter. (Seated) Link Ruth Hayes, Harbor Chapter, Doris McCarroll, Western Area Director Pasadena/Altadena, Vera L. Ricketts, Inglewood Pacific Chapter, chaired the publicity committee.
