WHAT IS NAMD?

  The National Association of Market Developers was established in 1953. It is a professional organization serving practitioners two-way communicatios [[communications]] between establishment institutions and the black community.
  Members of NAMD are found largely in the areas of marketing, management, advertising, sales, public relations, urban affairs and other related fields. As relationships between the black community and majority institutions have grown more complex, some members now come from the fields of EEO/Affirmative Action and personnel.

ITS MISSION

  NAMD seeks to cultivate those aspects of the black experience that can produce positive results for both the black community and the establishment institutions--private and public.

NAMD... recognizes the vital role of individuals engaged in these areas of communication and offers a vehicle that enables them to exchange knowledge, information, experience, and know-how about the market place.

NAMD... enhances the professional growth and development of its members.

NAMD... publishes a monthly newsletter informing members of what's going on in the organization and the market place.

NAMD... holds an annual national workshop business conference at which innovative marketing techniques are highlighted and analyzed.

NAMD... seeks to inspire, guide and offer financial assistance to high school students pursuing careers in marketing and business.
