Dear Dr. Alexander,

Thank you so very much for your correspondence of December 19, 1985...referencing the C. Melvin Patrick Memorial Scholarship Fund at Morehouse School of Medicine. Congratulations on your initiative to promote the program.

It might interest you to know that most recently in Seattle and Louisville while participating at the National Newspaper Publishers Association Convention and the 71st Phi Beta Sigma Annual Conclave... I utilized my funds by presenting two $5,000 scholarships respectively... in Mel's honor.

I will certainly consider the Morehouse program... but not at this point. Hopefully, you will understand the immediate dilemma.

Will advise as soon as I can clear another grant.

Respectfully.
