it  I intend to put up a notice to colored people here advising them to (those who are living as man and wife) become united in lawful bonds of matrimony  What can I do with the aged infirm and children who are driven from the plantations  My expenses here will nesessarily be considerable here there are no vacant buildings here consequently I am compelled to hire a room at an expense of thirty dollars a month and my board will cost twenty or twenty four dollars per month  I need some person here to act as orderly and clerk as I will need to visit the plantations in the vicinity  I think in order that I might do justice to all here I should have some one to aid me [[strikethrough]] here [[/strikethrough]]  I could recommend George B. Heartt Co. B. 33rd Ill. If you could have him detailed for me it would be very agreeable 

I hope you will not fail to give me all necessary instructions  I am almost helpless as I have no books blanks or stationary
