Captain
I have the honor to state that since my last communication in relation to the Gov't. buildings at this place, I have ascertained some facts of which I was not aware at that time. Mr. H. Johnson Treasury Agent is responsible for the building lately burned, it being reported by that Department. Mr. Johnson is now at Mobile where he will probably remain for some time attending to Cotton affairs. If I had possession of the remains of the building I could sell the brick for (3) three or (4) four dollars per thousand immediatly. If you can give me an order to sell them in the absense of the Treasury Agent it will be so much clear gain. Please let me know
