Lieut Col R S Donalson

Dr Sir
I wrote you in my Repot of the 1st Inst that I had enclosed you one Dollar for license sold to Freedmen, which I found I have necklected to put in the Report I have enclosed it in this, please excuse my mistake or omission, I wrote you that the Freedmen in my neighbaurhood were not disposed to make any Contracts for next year untill after the first of January. I Stated that the impression with them was that they would have land and Team & Rations furnished them to farm as they say, on their own hook, please write me on the subject that I may be able to satisfy them on that Subject - they are getting along very quietly in my neighbaurhood so far and I am in hopes they will continue to do so -

Very Respectfully
