Sir
I have the honor to make the following weekly report — Mr. Lott a wealthy planter proposes to lease for a number of years a large plantation for an Asylum for Freedmen he did not propose any terms but said his terms should be liberal I told him I would correspond with you upon it —

Mason Brown a planter residing near Livingston tried to prevent his hands from visiting me to make complaints and told them that Capt Cullum of Sharkeys Malitia was the proper person to go to I ordered [[strikethrough]] Capt C [[/strikethrough]] Brown to appear and explain himself but he has not reported

none have made contracts for next year yet but several have called for blanks for that purpose

I am endeaveoring to get a house for a school

Very Respectfully Your Obdt Servt
