Sir,- I have the honor to forward the following weekly report (also some few words not in connection with a weekly report)  I have approved one contract for next year  I think next month there will be many more  I have been visiting several important Plantations this week and talking to and lectureing the Freedmen upon their duties  the most of them that I viseted want to go into contracts for next year  I have already given out about fifty blank contracts for next year  the wages agree'd upon is from $8 00 to $13 00 per month ^[[insertion]] (for Laborers) [[/insertion]] and from $18 00 to $20 00 for good mechanics  there is no school in operation now  I have secured a sight for a school house and the Freedmen are going to work this week to build a school-house  it will be a frame new from the Mill  no reports from the Authorized ministers to perform Marriage  I have indentured three children (Orphans) and will indenture the first of next month ten more  Mr Lott a wealthy Planter in
