in this County proposes to lease one thousand acres of Land for five or ten years to the Freedmens Bureau for an asylum or any other purpose charitable or otherwise that the Bureau may see proper to do with it he has proposed no terms yet

The City Mayor has refused to allow any more suits in which Freedmen are interested ^[[insertion]] to be tried before him [[/insertion]] giving as a reason for so doing "that it occupies to much of his time" there has been but little dificulty between the Freedmen and employers during this month I think both are becoming more reconciled

I have not collected the fees on one ^[[insertion]] of the three [[/insertion]] indenture I think I will be able to make a good report next month the health among the Freedmen is very good. No more trouble with the malitia lately I give them to understand that they had nothing to do in my department
