Jackson Mississippi,

Sir

I have the honor to report that I have made the purchase of twenty thousand 20000 feet of lumber (as directed by you) at $25 per thousand. Said lumber is to be delivered by Charles H Currier on the Mobile and Ohio R.R. at Desoto, fifty miles south of Meridian, by the 10th day of March 1866. the lumber is to be paid for, on delivery at Desoto. it is all the place that I could find lumber at the price specified, all other mills are charging from $30 to $35 per thousand. Cars should be furnished as soon as the lumber is delivered to prevent it from being stolen.

I am sir very respectfully
your most obedt servt
