Willard E. Busby 1st Lieut 102nd U.S. Inf. Captured July 22nd 1918 at Epieds France during the American drive Co D of which I am an O. Advanced on Epieds under machine G. Fire. reaching The Town at 6 a.m repulsing two counter attacks holding on till noon. The Captain was wounded & one Lt. Killed. I with 7 men being taken just outside a garden wall. We lost about 90 men from Co D. but our opponents suffered much heavier losses:----
